Tricks/Styles of Rubber Stamp Texture

Aside from creating artistic crafts out of rubber stamps, you may add more tricks and styles for an even more creative output or product. Making your conventional stamped material designed with distinctive quality. The following are only some of the tricks to texturize your rubber stamping methods for your artworks:

Style #1. Texturizing with the use of sandpaper

What you need for this style is a piece of square sandpaper that is either new or already used. A thick, heavy card for your surface is appropriate so that your card will not be torn.

First, the image of your reference should be stamped on a cardstock with the use of a dye-based ink. Emphasize the image with chalk. With sandpaper, smoothly scrub the sandpaper against the image until the expected “distraught” appearance shows. After this, you may cut out the image from the sanded paper and attach the impressed image onto the project. You may consider this is a very simple, non-sophisticated technique but it can make a difference, aged but impressive look on your project or artpiece.

Style #2. Blurring with baby wipes

A water based markers or watercolor pencils and baby wipes (or slightly wet paper towels) are what you need. Stamp the image onto the project and include the preferred image or lettering. With the use of markers and watercolor pencils, shade the center and emphasize the sides of the stamp image until desired effect is achieved. Let the pigments to set without drying it entirely. Smoothly “pat” the image with the use of baby wipes. The dampness from the baby wipes will surely soften the coloring and cause a blurring effect. Dry the project and adorn as desired.

Style #3. Waxmax

A white crayon or a piece of wax is what you need for this technique. With your rubber stamp, stamp in collage style the preferred image onto a paper. Then color the part with the use of wax, resulting to highlighting effect. With the marker or stamp pad, shade the inner portion that is unstamped. Leave dry. If you are sure that the ink has been dried, gently chafe the image on little strokes of circles on the covered with wax portion. Ink is then rubbed off but the highlights would stay.

The above discussed techniques are really great to make extraordinary cards and scrapbooks. Simple projects embellished and texturized will surely be appreciated and by admired by those who will see your work. You can even perform the techniques. All together, so that you can maximize your creativity.
